SI.MA.D. S.r.l. provides asbestos removal from contaminated sites, in full accordance with the legislation about safety, health and work hygiene

You can ask for a free inspection during which one of our experts will assess the state of deterioration and the hazardousness of the material, and will suggest a program of intervention. According to the expertise carried out, a work plan will be drafted to be submitted to the local health authority for authorization. On the basis of the detected technical data SI.MA.D. S.r.l. will proceed to the removal and disposal, the cladding or confinement of the cement-asbestos structures.

  • Removal and disposal: structure dismantling, packing, transfer to ground, waste form filling and subsequent transportation to landfill. This operation radically and definitely eliminates the risk of fiber dispersion.
  • Cladding: whenever removal is not feasible, or in order to limit costs, asbestos is treated with penetrating or covering products that form a compact cladding which absorbs the asbestos fibers and prevents their dispersion in the air. It is a temporary solution that requires a maintenance program and controls over time.
  • Confinement: installation of protection barriers isolating the materials containing asbestos from the rest of the building or overlaying with plastic or metal sheaths, gaffer tapes etc. Like the previous one, this intervention does not represent a final solution and requires a maintenance program and controls over time.

Interventions are supervised by qualified technicians with proven experience in the field, and procedures are carried out by personnel who are specialized, authorized, regularly registered at Inail (National Institute for Insurance against Accidents at Work) for asbestosis risk and equipped with suitable devices of individual protection.

In full respect of the legislative process, the procedure is concluded when the local health authority is informed of the asbestos disposal/cladding/confinement and the client receives a copy of the forms and the Certification of the removal procedure and the subsequent delivery to authorized facilities.

Asbestos, also known as eternit, is extremely hazardous to human health as recognized by law 257/1992 which forbids any further extraction, production or trade of the material.

Asbestos fibers are highly toxic and, if inhaled, may cause lung cancer, pleural mesothelioma, asbestosis and pleural plaques.

It is therefore advisable to rely on authorized professionals and experts to execute the interventions of removal or maintenance, minimizing any potential risk to the health of the people living in proximity to the dangerous site and of the operators themselves.
